These surface characteristics represent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, friction coefficient, fatigue performance, etc. This performance improvement is very limited and can only rely on the improvement and upgrading of Asia Pacific materials, and usually achieves less effect through surface treatment technology. This is the reason for the rapid development of surface treatment technology.
Ultrasonic embossing mechanical surface treatment technology refers to the systematic engineering of changing the shape, chemical composition, microstructure, and stress state of the mold surface through surface coating, surface modification, or composite treatment techniques to obtain the required surface properties. From the perspective of surface treatment methods, they can be divided into chemical methods, physical methods, physicochemical methods, and mechanical methods. In order to improve the surface performance of molds, new processing technologies continue to emerge, but nitrification, carburizing, and hardening film deposition are the main applications in mold manufacturing. The nitrification process includes gas nitriding, ion nitriding, liquid nitriding, etc. Each nitriding method has multiple nitriding processes that can meet the requirements of different steel grades and workpieces. Nitriding technology can form surfaces with excellent performance. Nitriding technology is compatible with the quenching technology of mold steel, with low nitriding temperature, no need for incandescent lamp cooling after nitriding, minimal mold deformation, fast surface strengthening of molds, and wide application.
The purpose of carburizing is to improve the overall strength and toughness of the mold. That is to say, the working surface of the mold has high strength and wear resistance. That is to say, carburizing and quenching can be used instead of materials to reduce manufacturing costs. In order to improve the bonding strength of the surface of chemical vapor deposition workpieces, various physical vapor deposition techniques have been developed.
The hardened film deposition technology was first applied to cutting tools. Coating hardening film is considered a standard process for many tools. Since the last century, coating hardening film technology has been used for molds. Under current technological conditions, the cost of hardened film deposition technology (mainly equipment) is relatively high, and it is still only suitable for some precision and long-life molds. By adopting a heat treatment center construction, the cost of coating hardening film will be greatly reduced. If more and more molds adopt this technology, the level of mold manufacturing can be comprehensively improved!
