As the name suggests, a leather embossing machine is a machine that processes leather. So, what are the steps for processing leather? The main steps include tanning, dyeing, classification, polishing, decoration, and topcoat protection. After these steps, a fully treated leather can be obtained. Next is the embossing operation for this leather. In the article, the editor will provide a detailed introduction to these processing steps and the operation technology of the leather embossing machine. Steps for processing leather with a leather embossing machine:
1、 Tanning
Tanning can be achieved through various tanning agents, commonly used being chromium powder. The tanned leather has a blue tinge, which is why the tanned raw leather is called wet blue leather. The purpose of tanning is to preserve leather for a long time without spoilage.
2、 Staining
Leather is dipped dyed, meaning that both the surface and interior of the leather are dyed. After the dyeing process is completed, the wet blue skin becomes a skin embryo.
3、 Classification
According to different natural characteristics and expected uses, different types of leather are produced, mainly including Aniline aniline leather, Semi Aniline semi aniline leather, Pull Up oil wax leather, Suede matte leather, Pigmented coating leather, Bycast two-layer film coated leather.
4、 Grinding
Use sandpaper to smooth the surface of the top layer to remove most of the natural imprints. Full grain leather is not polished and cannot have obvious defects or marks, so it has higher value than coated leather.
5、 Modification
After modification, it can cover the defects on the leather and make the color consistent. Using an electric heating plate or roller embossing can create the desired texture and better hide natural imprints. Transparent top coating can prevent color fading, protect the leather, and increase the feel and luster.
6、 Top coating protection
Top coating protects the leather from stains and prevents discoloration of clothing. Using non professional cleaning agents such as alcohol, soap, etc. can damage the topcoat. After the top coat is damaged, the leather surface appears to be clean, but the surface becomes sticky and may discolor the clothes.
